What are 7 Pot Primo peppers?

This super hot pepper is a cross between a Naga Morich and a Trinidad 7 Pot pepper, created by horticulturist Troy Primeaux (AKA Primo).

This pepper measures in at almost 1.5 million SHU. That's almost 300x hotter than the average jalapeño, and similar in heat to the Carolina Reaper.

The 7 Pot Primo was developed in 2005. 7 years later, a suspiciously similar pepper took the crown of hottest pepper in the world. Primo himself still throws shade, claiming on his website that the 7 Pot Primo is the hottest pepper in the world.

Initially, when you try this pepper, you’ll be overwhelmed by its extreme heat. However, if you can get past the intense heat, you’ll notice that it is fruity and even floral.
