Datil peppers range from about 100,000-300,000 SHU (scoville units). The heat level is comparable to some habanero peppers — so pretty hot!

How to grow: start indoors

In most places, you will want to start your seeds indoors about 8-12 weeks before your last frost date.

About 2-3 weeks after a your last frost date, begin taking them outside for brief amounts of time in indirect sunlight. Increase the duration until they can survive direct sunlight and staying overnight outdoors.

Harden off

Transplant

After you have hardened off your seedlings, transplant them outdoors. You can plant them straight in the ground, in garden beds, or in 5-gallon buckets.
